Kansai International Airport was ranked No. 1 in the Airports Asia & Middle East category (in the subcategory of annual tonnage 500,000-999,999 tons) in 2009, for the 3rd consecutive year, in the Air Cargo Excellence Survey conducted by Air Cargo World, a UK major air cargo magazine.This outcome is the result not only of the efforts of Kansai International Airport Co., Ltd., but also thanks to the constant and strenuous efforts of all parties involved in air cargo, including air carriers using KIX, freight forwarders, cargo handling operators and the authorities concerned. In cooperation with our partners, the Company intends to earn an even better reputation in the eyes of our customers as an international cargo hub airport. |

| Scheduled International Flights in Summer 2009 | |
Scheduling of international flights to and from Kansai International Airport in summer 2009 has started. This includes 3 daily KIX-Narita routes, which are important for the improvement of KIX's position as Western Japan's gateway to the world.International passenger flights will mark a record high of 609 per week at the peak time (August) owing to the new launch of a KIX-Seoul (Incheon) route by Jeju Air (a growing Korean airline), and the start of a KIX-Wuxi (China) route by Shenzhen Air, among others. |
