First Step to Improve Access Cost
Airport Access Bridge Transferred
Kansai International Airport Co., Ltd. transferred the road of Airport Access Bridge ("Sky Gate Bridge"), which connected Kansai International Airport Island and the mainland, to West Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd. (a company operating expressway in West Japan) on 29th Apr. 2009. By this transfer, tolls were lowered to about half-price, and special arrangement lowering tolls up to one-quarter is in effect for a limited time, if the requirements are met. This reduction improved the access condition and is expected to increase the competitiveness of Kansai International Airport.

"Welcome Vision" Start to Introduce Kansai District
To introduce traditional Kansai culture and panoramic spots, 16 50-inch plasma displays named "Welcome Vision" were installed in the baggage claim area on the 1st floor of the Passenger Terminal Building (cooperation by the Osaka 21st Century Association and Panasonic Corporation). International arrivals are able to enjoy the video while waiting for their baggage. This service aims to promote the introduction of Kansai culture and Visit Japan Campaign.
