Large-scale Antivirus Measure Took in KIX

Kansai International Airport Co., Ltd. (KIAC) took a massive measure to prevent the spread of influenza A (H1N1) infection from September 14 to 19.
The application of special antivirus coating, which is expected to prevent contact infection through general passengers' touch, to about 2,300 handles of baggage carts, about 50 panels of push button of the elevator, about 500 doors of toilet stalls, nursing rooms, first-aid room, and information counters. Such a large-scale antivirus measure is the first implementation at Japanese airports.
Adding this coating to existing daily cleaning, KIAC aims to enhance the passengers' safety.
"Japan Pop Culture Festival 2009" Held in KIX
Send Cool Japan from KIX to the World

KIX will hold "Japan Pop Culture Festival 2009" on September 26 and 27. This event gathers massive Japan Pop Culture like "manga", cosplay (dressing up) and so on, which is very popular among young people all over the world as "Cool Japan" and send information to the world from KIX.
On these 2 days, a lot of cosplayers will walk around KIX and a fashion show of peculiar characters will be held. "Maid cafes" where customers are doted on by young waitress who look like they have fallen straight from the manga will also open.
Together with this, Taiwanese tour "Osaka Moe(= tickling a person's feeling for animation or cosplay) Tour" will be carried out. This tour will charter the entire train of the limited express "Rapi:t" from the center of Osaka city to KIX and promote intercommunication between Taiwanese participants and Japanese cosplayers in the car.
