For the winter 2009 flight schedule, the peak time (December) is expected to see 724.5 flights per week at KIX. This will be the 4th largest figure for scheduled winter operations.
For passenger flights, 599 scheduled flights per week will be the second largest figure for KIX's scheduled winter operations, following a high of 611 flights recorded last winter.
Adding to the lessening effect of influenza A (H1N1) infection at last, there are positive factors such as newly-launched daily services on the following routes as well as continuing services on our current flights.
• KIX-Dalian route by All Nippon Airways (from Oct. 25)
• KIX-Guam route by Continental Airlines (from Dec. 23)
• KIX-Gimpo (Seoul) route by Korean Air (from Nov. 1), Asiana Airlines (from Nov. 13), and Jeju Air (from Nov. 27)

Japanese Traditional Dance by Maiko
image
October 1st is China's National Day, and this year, for the first time, there were eight consecutive public holidays, from Oct. 1st to 8th. Many Chinese took the opportunity to visit Japan.
To give a special welcome to these visitors, a Japanese traditional dance was performed by 'Maiko', apprentice 'Geisha', at the Transit Area (the area after Immigration) and in front of Tourist Information Center, where the foreign tourist often visited to get free information in foreign language such as English, Chinese, Korean, French, and so on.
The dance and friendliness of the Maiko were well-received by the visitors, and many also had their photos taken with them.
